The University has great sporting facilities across all three campuses. The Clifton campus is the natural home for sport and boasts a modern £1 million sports hall that hosts many sports from netball to wheelchair rugby. The City site also has its own sports hall complete with a climbing wall and two squash courts, whilst our Brackenhurst campus is home to the riding stables and a third cricket pitch.

Family Friendly Policies and Schemes
Under NTU’s commitment to family friendly initiatives we offer a number of options including Maternity and Paternity Leave, these in many instances, exceed our minimum legal obligation as an employer. Some of which described in more detail below:

Flexible Working Policy

The University runs a scheme in partnership with Busy Bees which aims to provide a flexible method of meeting the cost of your childcare.
The scheme is open to all employees and the potential savings in childcare costs arise from lower Tax and National Insurance payments.

Westfield Contributory Health Scheme
Not to be confused with private medial insurance, for a modest set weekly premium this option gives you money, up to maximum limits, towards a wide range of routine treatments and healthcare. It will also assist with out of pocket expenses of staying in hospital and includes a 24-hour confidential counselling and advice line.

Give As You Earn*
The scheme is registered with the Inland Revenue and allows you to make charitable donations directly from your gross pay. When you contribute through a registered payroll giving scheme the donation is deducted directly from your gross pay, before tax is calculated.

* These are available should staff wish to elect to ‘purchase’ via voluntary deductions from pay through the payroll system.
